Mary Pasquinelli, DNP, APRN, FNP-BC, is a Nurse Practitioner and the Director of the Lung Screening Program at the University of Illinois Chicago (UIC)/UI Health. She holds a Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) degree and is a Certified Tobacco Treatment Specialist. In 2015, she established UI Health’s lung screening program, which serves a predominantly minority population on Chicago’s South and West Sides.
Dr. Pasquinelli leads a comprehensive lung screening and research initiative that includes a dedicated pulmonary nodule clinic and a thoracic oncology clinic, providing continuity of care from initial screening through diagnosis, treatment, and survivorship. She has served as Principal Investigator on multiple grants, and her published research focuses on lung cancer screening, implementation science, and health disparities.
Her clinical and scholarly work is driven by a commitment to reducing barriers to care, advancing health equity, and improving outcomes for individuals at risk for or diagnosed with lung cancer. In recognition of her leadership, Dr. Pasquinelli received the 2021 Prevent Cancer Foundation James L. Mulshine National Leadership Award and was named UI Health’s Nurse Practitioner of the Year in 2024.
